The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) is a multidisciplinary member organisation and charity providing expert-led education to a global community of healthcare professionals. The RSM provides healthcare professionals with access to more than 200 expert-led events each year, including conferences, lectures and multidisciplinary forums, alongside opportunities to connect with peers, access learning resources and develop their careers.

Join the RSM Cardiology Section for the 2026–27 General Day series, a programme of focused study days covering key areas across cardiology. Designed for cardiology resident doctors, specialty registrars, consultants and related healthcare professionals, the series covers pacing and device programming, pulmonary hypertension, advanced heart failure and transplantation, and cardiac CT, MRI and nuclear cardiology.

Each day offers expert-led teaching focused on developing practical knowledge and confidence for clinical practice and ongoing specialty training.

General day 1: Pacing and device programming

· 09:00–16:00

Royal Society of Medicine, London

A full-day masterclass on cardiac pacing and device programming. Designed for cardiology specialty registrars, consultants and cardiac device professionals, the programme combines core principles with practical troubleshooting, device optimisation and complication management to build confidence in everyday clinical practice and specialty training.

A focused study day exploring the diagnosis and management of pulmonary hypertension (PH), from recognising the condition and understanding its causes to referral, advanced treatment and transplantation. Designed for cardiology, respiratory and rheumatology resident doctors and consultants, as well as heart failure specialists, the meeting will provide a comprehensive overview of a complex and often under-recognised condition.

General day 3: Advanced heart failure, MCS and transplantation

· 09:00–17:00

General day 4: Cardiac CT, MRI and nuclear cardiology

· 08:30–15:45

Royal Society of Medicine, London

A comprehensive day of expert-led teaching on cardiac computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and nuclear cardiology. Most imaging courses focus on a single modality or are pitched at those already subspecialising. This meeting fills that gap by covering all three tomographic modalities in a single structured day, helping resident doctors build the knowledge and confidence needed for clinical practice and future imaging training.
